Semester-III

Sociology - I

The course is planned as a sociological examination of law both as a mechanism of social regulation and as a field of knowledge. It will explore classical and contemporary theoretical contributions to sociology of law. The students will analyse social issues like social control and law, law and social change, social reality of law, the profession and practise of law ,violence against women including negative aspects, and the influence of race,gender,and social status through legal decisions.

Political Science - III

The required attitude for peaceful and harmonious existence of man in any part of the world will be developed through analysis of areas of conflicts and finding absolute solutions both at national and international level apart from emphasis to advocate the same.

Economics - I

The students will learn how they can find the solutions to economic and social problems, for example by analysing human behaviour in the light of scarcity of resources, human interactions in businesscontext, which will help the students a solid understanding of areas of law that are most relevant for appreciating the interplay between law and economics.

Law of Contract - I

The course acquaints students with rules relating to enforceable agreements and puts those rules in their practical perspective. To evaluate contractual issues in social, domestic, international and commercial transactions enough exposure is facilitated to every student. This method obviously help one either to enter into commercial or domestic field for drafting, arbitration or adjudication as per his choice.

Family Law - I

Study of Family Law is Unique. It is not like the rest of the civil laws. It lacks uniformity in application. It covers an enormous area of domestic relations such as marriage, matrimonial remedies, legitimacy of children, custody, guardianship, adoption, intestate and testamentary succession etc. This paper is designed with a view to educate the pupil about the Hindu law. Student is able to know the rules relating to marriage, matrimonial remedies, legitimacy of children, custody, guardianship, adoption as it involves the sensitive relationship between individuals in the society. After completion of this course student would be able to give guidance to the society regardingthe implementation of Hindu Law. Students will be able to analyse and critically understand the concept of marriage and relate it to the changing nature of marriage as is witnessed today such as live-in relationships and recognition of same - sex - marriages. Finally will help students analyze it from sociological perspective thereby understanding the importance offamily and its relevance with the society.
